What is Avengers: Doomsday about?
Marvel’s description has groups of heroes from three different universes thrown together to face a catastrophic threat: the Avengers, Wakandans, and New Avengers; the Fantastic Four; and the X-Men. The threat is Doctor Doom, and the multiverse is collapsing around them. The film picks up where Avengers: Endgame left off.

Trailers and teasers
Marvel released four short teasers in theaters ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash in December 2025, including the one that revealed Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers. The first full trailer debuted at CinemaCon in April 2026 and was released online on July 20, 2026.
Release date history
The film was first announced as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for May 2025. It was moved to May 2026 and then to its current date to give the production more time to finish. The title changed to Doomsday, and Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doctor Doom, at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024.
